The research aims to assess the outcomes of the EIA process by analyzing selected case studies across various sectors and regions. It also identifies contextual factors influencing EIA implementation and proposes recommendations to improve its effectiveness.
Methodology: The current study employed a literature review approach to assess the implementation and effectiveness of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in Indonesian law.
Findings: The findings indicate positive outcomes in terms of impact identification and implementation of mitigation measures. However, challenges remain in stakeholder engagement, monitoring and enforcement, and integrating EIA outcomes into decision-making processes. To address these issues, recommendations are made, including strengthening the legal framework, promoting meaningful stakeholder engagement, enhancing capacity and expertise, integrating EIA outcomes into decision-making, and improving monitoring and compliance mechanisms. The study concludes by highlighting the need to consider Indonesia’s unique socio-political context and environmental challenges in improving
the effectiveness of the EIA process.
Implications/Novel Contribution: The current study provide insights into the challenges faced by Indonesia and propose contextually appropriate recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the EIA process.
2023-06-19T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) https://jarssh.com/ojs/index.php/jarssh/article/view/213 Importance of Conducting Cyber Security Awareness Sessions among Undergraduate Students 2024-01-15T11:32:27-06:00 Arshiya Subhani arshiya@bathspa.ae Iftikhar Alam Khan arshiya@bathspa.ae Usman Ahmad arshiya@bathspa.ae
Aim: In this digital era, a person’s day begins with digital devices such as digital watches or smartphones. Cyber security is one of the major concerns in this era. Every device is connected, and hence, it is one of the reasons for most of the data security issues. The aim of this paper is to find out if it is necessary to conduct cybersecurity awareness sessions among students of different fields of study.
Methodology: To answer this question, a survey is conducted using the questionnaires and respondents are students from three different fields of study: Creative Computing, Business and Management and Psychology at BSU Academic Center, RAK, UAE. The data collected from 141 respondents was well analyzed.
Findings: The findings show a significant difference between the responses of three fields of study. The students of Creative computing are well aware of cyber security terminologies compared to students from other fields of study.
Implications/Novel Contribution: The students can be guided with appropriate cyber laws to understand the importance of data security. In the future, cyber security awareness could be created among students by conducting seminars and workshops.
2023-06-19T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) https://jarssh.com/ojs/index.php/jarssh/article/view/220 The Impact of Gamification-Based Pedagogical Approaches on Academic Performance and Student Engagement in Educational Settings: Jordanian School Teachers’ Perspective 2024-10-23T04:31:48-05:00 Buthina Ziead Alobidyeen balobidyeen@ttu.edu
Aim: This study investigates the impact of gamification-based pedagogical approaches on academic performance and student engagement from the perspective of Jordanian school teachers. With the increasing integration of technology and innovative teaching methods, understanding the effectiveness of gamification in educational settings becomes crucial. The objective of this research is to explore how gamification strategies influence both academic performance and student engagement, as perceived by Jordanian school teachers.
Methodology: Employing a quantitative research approach, a sample of 433 Jordanian school teachers was purposefully selected to participate in the study. The research instrument employed is a closed questionnaire, designed to gather comprehensive insights into teachers’ perceptions of the effects of gamification on academic performance and student engagement. The data collected underwent rigorous analysis using the Smart Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS) technique. This method enabled a robust examination of the relationships between gamification-based pedagogical approaches, academic performance, and student engagement.
Findings: The findings emphasize the positive impact of gamification-based pedagogical approaches, shedding light on its potential to transform traditional teaching methods. Policymakers, educators, and curriculum designers can draw upon these findings to make informed decisions aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Jordan and potentially in analogous educational systems globally.
2023-06-19T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c)
